Version 1.00

It’s taken me nearly two years, but here we are – Version 1.00. I’m proud to announce that Reclaim the Wild is complete, and ready for wide release!

(I doubt I’ll ever be able to say it’s “done” – what is, these days? – but at some point, one has to stop calling things ‘Beta’ or ‘Release Candidate’, and let them fly on their own wings.)

You can find the latest version available for download here, or by clicking the “Download” link up top.

Below, you’ll find the changelog – what’s different between this version, and the previous release (in this case, Release Candidate 8).

Reclaim the Wild (Core Rulebook)

  • The Credits section now points to the newly-created website. Exciting!
  • Added the Darknut crafting style, which does what the Demon style did previously.
  • Now, the Demon style is a mirror of the Fairy style. This also means all player racial styles cost only 3 Tokens.
  • Fixed a few errant “Make a To-Hit Check” entries.
  • Multi-Shot shots now do (1 + Rank) damage, up from (Rank) damage. This allows R0 Multi-Shot to exist.
  • Ordon Rush now asks you To-Hit target’s Vitality to push them around.
  • Dragoon Elite now resists all attempts to dismount, not just Push. (IE, Knocked Prone)
  • Updated Command Melody to know about Concentration and Vitality.
  • Weak Points’ Evasion is not reduced by a monster’s Defense as much.
  • Changed how the natural Defense of Gorons and Talking Animals work.
  • Updated the Death Mountain Defense Feat to match.
  • Hasty now only increases Movement, not Initiative. (Since Sneaky handles that just fine.)
  • Coldsnap weather now reduces Initiative as well as Evasion.
  • Companions fall over Helpless when they hit 0 HP, instead of dying instantly.
  • Reworded the effects of Pink and Black Fairy Friends.
  • Cleaned up the Character Creation section a bit.
  • Noted that all Heroes start as Natural Walkers, and non-Natural Swimmers, by default.
  • Simplified the wording on Deflect. It now applies to any type of Attack, flat-out.
  • Talking Animals’ Natural Weapons were given a boost, to scale better at high levels.
  • Noted that Talking Animals’ Natural Weapons may be Enchanted.
  • Talking Animals’ Natural Weapons now deal with Durability like a Weapon with a Weapon Spirit.
    • This allows removal of the rider about using a Natural Weapon to harvest Materials.

Ravage the Wild (Bestiary)

  • The Credits section now points to the newly-created website. Exciting!
  • Adjusted wording in the “Changing a Foe’s Rank” section.
  • Added lots of new monsters, including (but not limited to):
    • Aquamentus
    • Darknuts
    • Gohma
    • Goriya
    • Insects (under Animals)
    • Lizalfos
    • Lynel
    • Molduga
    • Mothula
    • Nox
    • Revenants
    • Wizzrobes
  • Reworked the entries for:
    • Guardians
    • Keese
    • Talus

Rebuild the Wild (Supplement)

  • The Credits section now points to the newly-created website. Exciting!
  • Noted that Heavy Weapons have a Durability and Accuracy of a Sword of their Rank.
  • Listed the Market Price for Cannonballs.
