Version 1.05

I’m about to go on vacation, so it seemed a good time to release a new version. This’ll give folks something to chew on while I’m away! (And it means I can come home to a long list of fun errata to incorporate, I’m sure.)

This version features a change to the Elemental Weaknesses of some of the Races in the Core Rulebook, the addition of the new “Pickpocket” Combat Maneuver, and some minor balancing on a variety of attacks.

As ever, you can download the new version of the books here or here.

Treasure Chests

Hunting down Treasure Chests is a staple past-time of Zelda games old and new! However, the main rulebook for Reclaim the Wild doesn’t provide any guidance on how a GM should use Treasure Chests, or what should be inside them.

This article hopes to help you out with that! Below, you’ll find thoughts on Big Chests vs. Small Chests, traps on chests, and a helpful table for randomly determining a Treasure Chest’s loot.

New Race: Weapon Spirits

Today’s article is a bit of a special thing – one of our community members, Avara Sheridan, made a homebrew race for Reclaim the Wild a little while back. And today, we’re presenting it here on the blog!

This isn’t just some random bit of dashed-off napkin scribblery, though. Avara put a ton of work into designing this Race, iterating on it with other members of the community, and through it all, held herself to the same standards that we used in creating the Races of the Core Rulebook.

So not only is this a cool bit of homebrew design for the system, it’s also an excuse for us to show that players and GMs have started adding their hand-made additions to our Homebrew Wiki – and to show that, if your own homebrewed content goes through similar steps, you might find it featured on this blog, too!

Anyway, that’s enough preamble from me. Check out Avara’s cool Weapon Spirit Race below!
