Version 1.05
I’m about to go on vacation, so it seemed a good time to release a new version. This’ll give folks something to chew on while I’m away! (And it means I can come home to a long list of fun errata to incorporate, I’m sure.)
This version features a change to the Elemental Weaknesses of some of the Races in the Core Rulebook, the addition of the new “Pickpocket” Combat Maneuver, and some minor balancing on a variety of attacks.
As ever, you can download the new version of the books here or here.
Reclaim the Wild (Core Rulebook)
- Added the Pickpocket maneuver.
- Added the Thief, Thief’s Legerdemain, and Thief’s Triumph Feats.
- Updated the wording of the Sneaking section.
- Combined the Ruminative, Restorative, and Restful Respite feats, and changed how the new Restful Respite feat works a little bit.
- The Artillery Wizard Feat now specifies that it only affects your Use Rod and Use Staff Basic Attacks.
- Clarified that damage from Weather happens at the end of your turn.
- Clarified that “Bombs have 10 Evasion, and no Concentration or Vitality”.
- Clarified that throwing a Bomb is a “Throw 1H” attack.
- Clarified that Melee attacks can be used on diagonally-adjacent foes.
- Altered the example image explaining how “X Targets within Y Squares” to better explain the concept.
- Noted that the multiple turns that Bosses and Minibosses get should occur on different Initiatives.
- The “Armed, Magical” benefit for Talking Animals now makes your Natural Weapon a Rod, rather than remaining a Fist weapon. This grants it benefits when used to cast a Spell, but slightly lower Accuracy.
- Lanmola’s Stonespray now deals (Weapon + Willpower) damage to those adjacent to the original target.
- Thick Brush now only catches fire from adjacent sources at the end of a combat round, or every five minutes.
- Flying Fins now allows you to strike from the target’s back, as well as its front or sides.
- Clarified that you can chain electric bursts on Soaked targets, but that each creature will only be harmed once by such a chain reaction.
- Clarified the wording on Vanish to better interface with current Sneaking rules.
- Clarified that a Hero and their Companion share the same set of Reactions; this means, if a Hero uses Deflect, then their Companion can’t also use Deflect in that same round (before the Hero’s turn comes up again).
- Clarified that Great Bay Barrier’s retaliation’s range is “1 Target in 4 squares”. This means it can be Deflected and affected by other Reactions (but not other Great Bay Barriers!).
- Dark Brambles are now 2 squares tall. This prevents foes from easily jumping over them, making them more effective as a terrain-denial tactic.
- Great Bay Barrier is now useable for Blast, Burst, Cone, Melee, and Sweep attacks, but not Projectiles.
- Following community feedback and a lively discussion, changed the Elemental Weaknesses of some Races.
- Gerudo are now weak to Water.
- Subrosians are now weak to Water, instead of Light.
- Finally, Rito are now weak to Earth damage.
- Note! This change has a few nice effects: All Primary Races now have a different Weakness, and none are weak to Fire (a quite common element, particularly for early foes). This also means Light no longer wins the content of ‘best attacking element’ by quite such a potent margin; it has 3 Races weak to it, while Darkness, Fire, and Water have 2, and all other Elements have at least one.
Ravage the Wild (Bestiary)
- Made some formatting changes to the Stalfos entry, to add some pictures into an otherwise lifeless (hah) article.
- Changed Effortless Dodger, and the passive ability on Zirros, to be less punitive.
- Corrected errors in Moldorm’s statblock.
- Added new monsters:
- Babusu
- Dark Doppelganger
- Scaefos
Rebuild the Wild (Supplement)
- Fixed a few minor typos.
- Observatories and Fortune Tellers now properly have a Musical Power of (Rank x 2), rather than a Perform Trait of the same.
- Specified that an Inn only grants bonus Temporary points when used for an Extended Rest.
- Specified that Heavy Weapons are Large-sized.
- Added a note to Bridges about making them Drawbridges.
