Pierre's Passing
Major
When you play this song, target (Musical Power) creatures who can hear you and aren’t engaged in combat, who find themselves washed over with a wave of positive emotions. Roll 2d6 + Perform + Instrument Rank) vs. Concentration. Each target you succeed against is swept up in a state of irrepressible joy. So long as the Performer continues to play (using a Standard action each turn) they are considered Distracted by him/her, and cannot intentionally cause harm to them. In addition, all (Perception), (Insight), and Initiative rolls are made at – (Musical Power).
If a target succeeds at a (Perception) or (Insight) check to detect an act hostile towards them, they are entitled to a new (Discipline) roll to break out the state. Any attack or action that would initiate combat (such as drawing a weapon) they are aware of will also end the joyful state without the need for a roll.
A target’s disposition towards the caster will not automatically change as a result of playing this song, but any (Guile) or (Influence) rolls made to improve a target’s attitude towards a person while they are in this joyful state should receive + (Musical Power), as they are already predisposed to see the best in things and overlook flaws. Any (Intimidate) rolls, or other attempts to engender negative emotions, should receive a similar penalty.
